According to Judaism, Christianity and Islam, Gabriel (Hebrew Gabhrî’el, Gavri'el) is an archangel who serves as a messenger from God. The name Gabriel can mean "man of God", "God has shown himself mighty", or "Hero of God."

He is sometimes associated with the color Blue, which is where we get our blue school uniform from.
In the New Testament, Gabriel is believed to be the angel who revealed that John the Baptist was to be born to Elizabeth and he is also angel who revealed that Jesus Christ was to be born to Mary. St. Gabriel's day is September 29th. Because God often used Gabriel to bring good news to people, he is sometimes thought of as the patron saint of all those who work in communication
